COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PRESENTATION
Over 150 attended the public presentation of the draft plan at the WinMock Barn events center on January 24th! Please click on the link below to review the presentation. The Planning Board will be reviewing addtional comments on the plan in order to make a final recommendation to Town Council. PUBLIC INPUT MEETINGS
Thank you for your participation in the first round of public meetings. Over 100 participated during the meetings this week. The small group discussions were productive and will help craft the vision for the future of the Town of Bermuda Run. The next step in the process is preparing the draft Comprehensive Plan. Continue to visit the website for updates and to participate in the process. Updates will be posted as the Planning Board reviews draft sections of the plan. A second round of public meetings will be held later this year to receive additional input and feedback.

ABOUT THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
The Town of Bermuda Run is facing the challenge of dealing with future growth issues, development design, business success, and the cohesiveness of the Town and future development plans. Due to the various growth pressures, infrastructure constraints, desire for a Town Center, and opportunities for amenities, a need exists for the development of a comprehensive approach to long range planning for the Town.
With the introduction of the Interstate 40 interchange improvements, additional commercial development, and pending plans for an event center and a medical facility, these pressures have become more evident. In order to guide future development, land use decisions, and any future changes to the text of the Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances, a multi-disciplinary team assembled by Benchmark has been selected to guide the Town in the preparation of a Comprehensive Plan. The Team includes Benchmark staff members and team members from Fuller Architecture and Miller Landscape Architecture. This well-rounded team will assist the Town in writing a Comprehensive Plan that embraces Bermuda Run’s sense of place, history and overall character.
The Team will be working closely with the Town of Bermuda Run’s Planning Board, citizens, business community, elected officials, and others in establishing a Comprehensive Plan that sets forth a sound framework from which to manage and direct future growth within the Town and its extraterritorial jurisdiction area.
PURPOSE OF THIS WEBSITE
This website will provide opportunity for citizens to stay informed throughout the project. The site will be regularly updated with events, news, background information, drafts of the plan as it is developed, and other important information pertaining to the project. Meetings will be posted under the events menu tab and also displayed on the calendar in the side bar. To receive periodic email updates simply join our email list for meeting reminders and updates as well. Under the “participate” tab, please post comments regarding the project, adding your ideas when you are unable to attend a work session.
